During Janet Harvey’s recent Choice Magazine’s Multi Media Expert Series IV Part tele-series on Wholeness: Human & Organizational Social Change through Coaching, I got to thinking about what it means to have courage especially in the workplace.
When was the last time you were so passionate about something and held back for fear of some type of backlash?”
To me it means acting out of integrity and encouraging and respecting others to do the same. It means standing up and standing out for what you think is right even when others may not be in support.
When was the last time you were so passionate about something and held back for fear of some type of backlash? Or were you willing to take the risk regardless of any backlash?
What was the story you told yourself for not taking or taking the risk?
What would have been the worst thing that could happen to you if you spoke up?
What would have been the best thing that could happen to you if you did speak up or took action?
I’m really intrigued about this issue as it is an important element of individual and organizational wholeness. My intention is help individuals and organizations recognize the benefits of fostering environments that embrace corporate courage. For the sake of our learning, I would love to hear about your challenges and successes.
