Seattle, WA — SEATTLE, Jan. 31, 2011/PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In conjunction with International Coach Week, the Puget Sound Coaches Association initiated celebration of the "consumers of coaching" from organizations big and small for-profit and non-profit. Animated, excited, delighted, informative, generous and satisfied. All these adjectives apply to describe the experience shared by seven panelists from the Puget Sound region who were and are beneficiaries or professional coaching: 501 Commons, Astronics Corporation, Boeing Corporation, Phillips Healthcare, Port Blakely, Six Walls Designs, and T-Mobile. More than 100 people packed into the large conference room at REI in Seattle to participate in an early International Coaches Week event and engaged in a lively discussion about selection of coaches, results experienced, return on investment and return on expectation. Panelists discussed workplace challenges, their strategic use of coaching and the benefits they've realized.
As companies big and small reset following the recession, top concerns for CEOs include competing for global talent, developing and retaining top talent, and succession planning (Deloitte Talent Edge 2020 Report, "Blueprints for the New Normal," December 2010). To address these concerns companies around the globe, including many local Seattle businesses, are increasing investment in leadership development programs such as coaching. A recent PSCA survey of Seattle-area coaches found that:
The Puget Sound Coaches Association is a Charter Chapter of the International Coach Federation and the premier coaching community in the greater Puget Sound region. As a coaching community, PSCA works in collaboration for the future, across our region within and among coaches, business enterprise, education and government.
